在新英格兰的普德尔大学，流传着一个骇人的传说——“斯坦利大厅大屠杀”。二十五年前，一位行为怪异的心理学教授在斯坦利大厅里疯狂杀戮，最终自杀身亡。这起血腥悲剧在学生中广为人知。如今，校园里发生了一系列谋杀案。校报记者保罗·加德纳（杰拉德·莱托饰）坚信凶手就藏身于校园之中，他的朋友娜塔莎·西蒙（艾丽西亚·维特饰）则将这起事件与斯坦利大厅大屠杀联系起来。两人联手展开调查，但他们的朋友却接连遇害。娜塔莎惊恐地意识到，她和保罗已经落入了凶手设下的陷阱。 他们越接近真相，危险也越近……
